Charlotte Free's March Cover Story
For the record, Charlotte Free's hair, which we've seen in almost every shade—from bright fuchsia tramping down Roksanda Illincic's Spring 2012 runway, to ombré pastel in Forever 21 ads and her new Maybelline campaign—is no strategic ploy; she first dyed it that way before she began modelling. "I felt like myself," she says. "Like I was finally about to look how I wanted." The photographer David Mushegain, who spotted her playing video games at an L.A. arcade when she was 17, liked it too, and snapped her with predictions of future beauty contracts.
