Who: In previous incarnations, Diet Coke has collaborated with Missoni and Karl Lagerfeld who have created bottles and cans that are tied to their own distinct aesthetic. Gaultier, known as the enfant terrible of fashion, is bound to be a much more mischievous creative director.
What: Along with designing signature bottles and cans JPG will also take on the entire Diet Coke strategy, including advertising and marketing. He has already starred in three short films in which he saves puppets facing “fashion emergencies.” Trust Gaultier to give a multinational corporation a quirky edge.
