• Pick the date and place
• Hire a wedding planner

• Assemble your wedding party

10 months
• Nail a style (i.e., big and casual? Small and fancy? Totally secret with a post-elopement party?)
• Bring in the pros: officiant, caterer, florist, photographer/videographer, entertainment, hairstylist/makeup artist
• Create a web page to announce your wedding

8 months
• Hunt down gown and bridesmaid dresses
• Determine your menu
• Book your cake
• Book your transportation
• Collect addresses
• Send save-the-dates

6+ Months
• Reserve tables, chairs, and/or other rental equipment you’ll need
• Hunt down shoes, and accessories
• Plan the honeymoon
• Start a gift registry
• Order invites, thank-you notes, and other custom paper pieces
• Hire calligrapher

4+ Months
• Mail out invitations
• Block out rooms for out-of-towners
• Buy wedding bands
• Sort out the groom's getup
• Decide on attendants' attire
• Book wedding-night accommodations

3+ months
• Finalize the guest list
• Start dance lessons
• Appoint ushers and other ceremony helpers
• Book your hairstylist and makeup artist
• Finalize any post-wedding brunch details

2+ Months
• Write vows, toasts, and anything else you want scripted
• Select gifts for wedding party, the perfect lingerie
• Start welcome gift bags for out-of-towners
• Order guest favors
• Finalize your flowers
• Have your bridal shower
• Have final dress fitting

1+ Month
• Prep documents if you're changing your name
• Run through hair and makeup looks
• Take final guest count
• Finalize catering plan
• Find out where everyone's staying
• Start wearing your wedding shoes around the house

2+ weeks
• Apply for a marriage license
• Call guests who haven’t RSVP’d
• Assemble day-of emergency kit (or have your Maid of Honour do it)
• Call location manager and make sure your vendors have access to the site
• Check in with all vendors and confirm all details
• Assemble or package favours

1 Week to Go
• Confirm seating plan, sort out place cards and get them to reception site manager
• Delegate absolutely everything you can (i.e., passing out boutonnieres, mailing announcements, pet sitting)
• Get your hands on your dress
• Rent your formalwear
• Have rehearsal dinner or welcome reception
• Confirm wedding day transportation
• Pack for your honeymoon
• Gather all travel docs in one place

1 Day to Go
• Start day with deluxe mani/pedi
• Sort out payments and set aside vendor tips
• Do a play-by-play of the wedding day
• Say your thanks and hand out gifts (you may not have time tomorrow)
