Canadian Label Dace Celebrates Their 10th Anniversary

Canadian designer and Vancouver native Dace Moore is no stranger to minimalist chic, a trend that continues to dominate international runways. Her latest collection for SS11 is cause for celebration, as it marks the 10th anniversary of her eponymous label.

For Spring, Moore found her inspiration in a variety of textiles; delicate silks, waxed cottons and a vintage hand knotted wool shawl. Her usual array of dresses has been expanded by offering an increased number of separates to the 40-piece range. The colour palate is fresh with a focus on soft pastels, charcoal and indigo shades.

The collection stands apart not only in its design but also by the fact its production stays patriotic - save for two knit sweaters produced in Italy, the line is made entirely in Canada. In honor of the anniversary, Moore collaborated with her fellow Canadians, drawing in Vancouver labels Ashley Watson, Broken English, and Mono to create accessories.

When asked about her personal style advice for the upcoming season, Moore suggests mixing style with function. This personal philosophy is reflected in pieces like the 100% water-proof anorak, the ideal combination of functionality and timelessness. We wish Dace a happy 10th anniversary and look forward to what the next 10 years will bring for the brand.
