TIFF Award Winners

The royal drama The King's Speech with Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter snagged the People's Choice Award at this year's festival. If the past winners—which include films such as Precious and Slumdog Millionaire—are any indication, bets are this flick will be turning up at the Oscars. Other big winners? Denis Villeneuve's Incendies picked up the best Canadian feature prize, the documentary award went to Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie, and the vampire drama Stake Land got top nods for the midnight madness program.

Sadly, I didn't get a chance to see these films with my crazy schedule. However, I did come up with my own list of standouts:

Most entertaining: The Town

Best Performances: Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine and festival "it" girl Natalie Portman in Black Swan

Best Drama/Cast: Barney's Version

Sexiest Drama: Last Night

Most Gut Wrenching: Javier Bardem in Biutiful and James Franco in 127 Hours
