Line's first full-scale runway show was no petit debut.  Canada's banner girls (and FLARE favourites)--Alana Zimmer, Amanda Laine, Addison Gill, Elise Hélène Gatschene and Tara Gill top-modeled in richly-textured, large-scale knits and woolen leg coverings.  Line isn't just the go-to for fine, anonymously simple knits.  Suddenly, statement-making sweater-dressing became designer duo John Muscat and Jennifer Wells' new forté.  A beachwood plunging-V dress topped with a rippled outsize scarf was cozy, yet seductive.  A pale sage Mongolian lamb bolero and lavender smoke vest will top fall's shopping list.  Another gray sweater coat with fur epaulets proved that severe Balmain-style jackets are quickly falling out of favour in place of interesting knits. Pastel suede leggings induced "I need those" nudges amongst the fashion team, particularly in icy, figure-skate blue.  We'll take the matching open-neck mohair sweater and shaggy shoe coverings as well.  A sheer ivory onesie with a rupunzel-length scarf demanded a secluded snow-covered cabin to lounge about.  But then, out came a series of layered looks in leaf-changing orange hues and ecru. They evoked an earthy, autumnal palette that no longer feels relevant.  Overly crafty, their homespun appeal failed to compel.  Thankfully, an odd trio of chunky freshmint sweaters somehow awoke the collection from it's style hibernation and ended the show on a high note.
