Kate Middleton Recycles A Dress For Zara Phillips' Wedding

The British royal family threw another wedding bash this past weekend with the marriage of Zara Phillips, daughter of Princess Anne, to rugby player Mike Tindall. Phillips, who does not carry a royal title of her own, wore a silk faille and duchesse satin gown by Stewart Parvin, a London designer who is an official couturier to the Queen, and the Greek Key tiara, borrowed from her mum.

The nuptials were attended by the usual round-up of royals, as well as Olympic gold medal–winning skeleton racer Amy Williams and singer Una Healy. Kate Middleton, who's making something of a show of her outfit repeats, wore the same Jane Troughton coatdress—in her current favourite colour, cream—she wore to the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles in 2006. This go-round, the Duchess paired it with what's being dubbed "the potato chip hat," a plain, off-white circle with a Pringles-like wave and a monochromatic bloom hidden underneath (so it photographs well from all angles). Middleton also a green DVF dress to the pre-wedding party that she also donned during her L.A. sojourn.

By all reports, the wedding reception at Edinburgh's Palace of Holyrood House was a banger. (Phillips denied reports that Prince William was singing karaoke). The couple are not heading on a honeymoon yet as Tindall and Phillips, an accomplished equestrian, are scheduled to compete in their respective sports. Phillips was also out yesterday, launching the latest incarnation of her equestrian clothing line, ZP176.

At an intimate ceremony in Mallorca this past weekend, international runway favourite Anja Rubik married longtime boyfriend, and model, Sasha Knezevic. Rubik co-designed her wedding gown with close friend Peter Dundas, creative director of Emilio Pucci. The custom-designed silk pongé Pucci dress featured a mullet cut, allowing her to show off her famously long legs without sacrificing the drama of a floor-length gown. The model topped off the look with lace cap sleeves, bordered with cotton tulle--all of which added an elegant touch to her simple dress [Fashionologie].

The royal Kate notwithstanding, Kate Moss's wedding to Kills guitarist Jamie Hince, a three-day extravaganza, was undoubtedly the most fashionable nuptials of the year.

As has long been rumoured, Moss arrived at a church in the Cotswolds village of Southrop wearing a wedding gown by disgraced designer John Galliano. The airy vintage-inspired dress had a sheer overlay covered with gold sequins and Moss's white lace veil was embroidered with flowers. Her shoes were from Manolo Blahnik.

Moss also wore three separate looks by Stella McCartney--a silk chiffon dress for the first dance, a beaded mini-dress and finally, a white three-piece suit for her going away outfit. McCartney also made the dresses for some members of the bridal party.

Guests included McCartney, YSL designer Stefano Pilati (Hince wore bespoke YSL)Naomi Campbell, who wore Givenchy Couture to the ceremony, and artist Tracey Emin, who designed the centrepieces.

Kate Moss has tapped fashion photographer Mario Testino to be the photographer at her July 2 wedding to Jamie Hince. Testino has photographed the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and the late Princess Diana, as well as the engagement photos for William and Kate. But, the fashion muse admits that her relationship with Testino runs much deeper than just photographer and subject:

"I don't think anybody had seen me as any kind of sexy model before he did," Moss has said of Testino. "He was the one that transformed me. Before him I was just a grungy girl, but he saw me differently. He'd seen me in a pair of heels, getting glamorous—and he was the first to start taking pictures of me in that way."

Word is Testino has his own admiration for Kate. The photographer reported that Kate Moss is one of hi ...more

The highly talked-about and comically photoshopped hat has finally reached its 15 minutes of fame. Or so we thought.

Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice’s mum, announced yesterday on The Oprah Winfrey Show that the now-infamous Philip Treacy topper would be auctioned off on eBay to raise money for UNICEF and Children in Crisis.

The starting price is £5,000, but not to worry, if you don’t have the quid to spare, you can opt for the $9.99 paper version that promises “to attach fabulousness to [your] head.”

With so much buzz around this blush-toned headpiece, one could assume it stole Will and Kate’s thunder. Over 30 Facebook Fan Pages--ranging from 137,000 to 500 likes--to Tumblr sites, have devoted their time and imagination to ridicule the notorious lid. Noteable examples include Photoshopping cats jumping through the couture loop to pointing out its resemblance to the Evil Queen's mirror.

But what they say is true: there’s no such thing as b ...more
