SUMMER LOVIN’ With temperatures reaching record highs (finally) it’s time to heat up your summer beauty look. Some classic looks we love are red lips, deep red nails and soft pink blush. For an updated twist, try these 3 subtle changes:
• Use a coral-based red lipstick instead of old-fashioned ruby red—the look is more subdued, but it’s still got that classic flair.
• Also try an orange nail polish instead of red, or even try fuchsia for a change.
• Lastly, get rid of that boring old pale pink blush and get yourself a hot pink cream blush (see Ralph Lauren’s spring runway look, above). One to try: Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Moist Glow in Liquifuschia.

BOOK'N IT WITH P&G The beauty posse got a real treat this week when P&G Beauty took us to the Bata shoe museum to meet Candace Bushnell, author of Sex & the City and Lipstick Jungle. In a room full of Toronto’s best-heeled members of the press, I had to wonder, is there anything more to life than owning the latest, greatest designer shoe? (FYI—That was my best Carrie impersonation). According to Bushnell, shopping for the next hot Manolo is a life-altering occurrence safely stowed in the past. Today, she gets her kicks just knowing she can buy any designer bag or shoe known to man with her own hard-earned cash. Psst. She’s even been known to clomp around in Crocs. Sigh.
