Celebrity makeup artist, Alice Kilpatrick, who's worked on Kristen Stewart last time she was in Toronto (see above), gave us a quick how-to on how to get Stewart - and her character Bella's - beauty look.

FLARE: What are the keys steps to getting Kristen Stewart's gothic look?

Alice Kilpatrick: Kristen's canvas was easy to start with. Her skin is flawless. I started with Cargo Blu_ray Concealer around her nose, above her brows and blended it well. Then I applied a slightly lighter shade of concealer in the inner corner of her eyes to brighten them up and dusted M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish all over her face. This gives a clean finish with not too much coverage.

Knowing what Kristen was wearing, I kept with the makeup trend of purple. Using Cargo's Madagascar Smoky Eyeliner Duo to create a smokey look, I applied the cream base first and layered with the powder on top of the lids—not only for a little punch, but also to help the colour last. I then dragged the powder under the bottom lash line and at that point, I used a black eye pencil and applied it inside the bottom lash line (on the eye’s inner rim) to finish off the smokey look. For an extra hit of red carpet glam, I also applied a few individual false lashes to the outer corners of her eyes. Then I used Cargo's TexasLash Mascara in Black to add definition.

Finally, to soften Kristen’s goth look, I added MAC Studio Mist Blush in Peach Spritz to the apples of her cheeks and, because Kristen doesn’t like to wear lipcolour, I simply used MAC Lip Conditioner with SPF natural. Keeping the lip pale actually works best with dark eyes.

FLARE: What's the key to achieving a gothic beauty look without starting to look like a vampire?

AK: The best way to play up the goth look is with your eyes—you can use darker colours, so long as you remember to blend, blend, blend. This will give you the look you desire, but with a softer edge. Some other key tips? Keep your face well moisturized; add colour by using blush on your cheeks and sweep it up into your temples; and stay away from dark lip colours. You’re young, so keep your look fresh and clean.
